Congress Claims BJP is Disseminating False Information Regarding 'Altered' Indian Map

Jammu, Dec 26 (NationPress) The BJP has charged that the Congress showcased a 'distorted' map of India in the city of Belagavi, which is the venue for the party's CWC gathering. The Congress party has countered these allegations by accusing the BJP of disseminating false information, categorizing the BJP's claims as a simple 'tactic of distortion and diversion'.

The banners displayed during Congress’ event in Belagavi have ignited controversy due to their exclusion of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin, which has resulted in renewed political disputes.

In a statement to IANS, Ravinder Sharma remarked, 'Jammu and Kashmir, including PoK, is an integral part of India. The BJP is merely attempting to divert attention from its shortcomings. They should clarify their position on B.R. Ambedkar’s statements.'

Sharma stressed that the current uproar serves as a distraction from pressing issues.

He also criticized the BJP's claims that Congress is attempting to tarnish India's reputation.

Sharma highlighted that the party is on the verge of celebrating the 140th Foundation Day of the Congress, a political group that he asserts has consistently championed unity and national integrity.

'Congress has always strived to unite the nation, bridging the divide between Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians. Consider our sacrifices both before and after independence. The BJP, in contrast, lacks any significant legacy.' Sharma contended.

He further accused the BJP of capitalizing on religious and regional divisions for political advantages, aiming to maintain power by fostering divisions within the nation.

Concurrently, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) is conducting a two-day event in Belagavi on December 26 and 27 to honor the centenary of the 1924 Indian National Congress session, which was chaired by Mahatma Gandhi. This event, notable for its historical importance, will see participation from prominent Congress figures such as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi.
