BJP and Shiv Sena Criticize Congress Over Allegations of Map Misrepresentation

New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) The BJP and Shiv Sena have vehemently criticized the Congress Party regarding claims of showing a misrepresented map of India at its centenary celebrations of the 1924 Belagavi session on Thursday.
The map allegedly depicted PoK as part of Pakistan, leading to accusations of treason and anti-national conduct. In response, the Congress has firmly rejected these claims, labeling them as politically motivated.
The BJP asserted that the banners illustrated PoK as part of Pakistan, igniting public outrage.
This issue led to a heated exchange among high-profile leaders. BJP leader C. Narayanaswamy scrutinized Congress’ past decisions, stating, “Tell me, what actions did Nehruji take? How much territory did we concede to China? Nehruji claimed that nothing could flourish on that land. Now they have excluded PoK and other regions from India's map, allowing others to lay claim.”
Former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta remarked, “In 1947, Congress fragmented India and continues to hold such beliefs. It has already been acknowledged in Parliament that PoJK is ours, yet Congress leaders seek support from Pakistan. This constitutes a national offense.”
Shiv Sena leader Krishna Hegde accused, “Congress has transformed into a party for Muslims and has surrendered Kashmir to Pakistan. Such anti-national actions deserve legal action.”
In contrast, Congress firmly denied the allegations, calling them unfounded and part of the BJP's diversionary tactics. Ravinder Sharma, Chief Spokesperson for Congress, stated, “Jammu and Kashmir, including PoK, is an inseparable part of India. These remarks by the BJP serve merely as a distraction and a means to shift focus. The Congress has a longstanding history of sacrifices for the nation, fostering unity and diversity. The BJP should first respond for their disrespect towards Ambedkar.”
Earlier in the day, the BJP, via its social media account, declared, “It is indeed an act of treason that Congress members have distorted India’s map under the guise of Gandhi Bharat. The banners exhibited in Belagavi are evidence that Congress is willing to engage in despicable acts for personal gain and appeasement politics.”
Karnataka BJP leaders also urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take swift action against those accountable.
This controversy arises as Congress commemorates the 100-year anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi presiding over the 1924 Belagavi session. The grand celebrations, set for December 26 and 27, have triggered a political uproar following the emergence of this controversy.
