New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Thursday criticized the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), asserting that it seeks to usurp the nation's education framework.

Tagore shared his thoughts with IANS, addressing various topics such as the National Education Policy (NEP), delimitation concerns, and the ongoing Holi and Ramzan dispute.

Responding to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin's assertion regarding the government's imposition of the NEP to favor Hindi, Tagore emphasized that the matter is delicate and warrants thorough consultation.

He stated, 'Education policy should not fall under RSS control. The RSS intends to take over education and propagate a politics of hatred within society. Should it gain control, it will lead to societal division. A comprehensive education policy must be developed through dialogue with all stakeholders.'

When queried about the Congress party's position on delimitation—a point of protest for its Tamil Nadu ally DMK—Tagore noted that various state chief ministers are voicing their opinions on the matter.

He indicated that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will soon confer with chief ministers from opposition-led states to establish a united stance on the delimitation process.

Tagore expressed that the delimitation exercise ought to be conducted with input from all parties, contrasting it with the processes seen in Jammu and Kashmir and Assam.

He claimed that citizens are apprehensive that the impending delimitation exercise could mirror the situations in Jammu and Kashmir and Assam.

Advocating for the government to monitor population growth, he called for fair representation in the delimitation proceedings.

Emphasizing that the government should refrain from 'politicizing' the matter, Tagore proposed finding a new formula for delimitation after engaging in discussions with opposition representatives.

Regarding the Holi and Ramzan dispute, he reiterated that it is well known that the RSS aims to 'divide' society.

Increasing his criticism of the RSS, Tagore declared, 'What the Britishers did (dividing society), the RSS continues to pursue. However, we will not allow the marketplace of hatred to thrive.' He concluded his remarks by extending greetings for Holi and Ramzan.
