Mangaluru, Aug 17 (NationPress) BJP MLC C.T. Ravi asserted on Sunday that the allegations of mass graves linked to the Hindu pilgrimage site Dharmasthala in Karnataka are part of a conspiracy aimed at promoting religious conversions.
“When people’s faith is undermined, the path to conversion becomes simpler,” remarked Ravi, who previously served as the BJP National General Secretary.
He criticized certain factions for allegedly exploiting individuals as “tools” in the ongoing investigation into the mass grave issue.
After a visit to the renowned Dharmasthala temple, Ravi stated, “We’re not questioning the integrity of the investigation. However, those who initiated a defamatory campaign against the pilgrimage site and its Dharmadhikari should also be scrutinized.”
“This conspiracy aims to fracture a faith that has been cherished for generations,” he emphasized.
He further posed critical questions, asking, “Who is behind the social media campaigns, and who is financing them? This, too, warrants investigation. If they wish, let them excavate 20 more locations. The funding appears to originate from abroad, raising suspicions of a connection to religious conversions. This propaganda seems to have been orchestrated by urban Naxals. Generations of faith are being put under scrutiny, and this aspect must also be investigated,” he asserted.
“They can examine all of Dharmasthala. There was no concern in the past, and there is no cause for alarm now. The faith and devotion passed down through generations should not be questioned or disrespected,” Ravi added.
He went on to inquire, “Is it wrong to serve food to devotees? When caste discrimination prevailed, was it wrong to introduce a system of serving food to everyone without bias? Was it wrong to educate children? Was their contribution to the healthcare sector a crime? Was it wrong to restore temples through trusts? What exactly is the crime here?”
“The ongoing investigation is targeting Dharmasthala under false pretenses. Attacking the Dharmadhikari and his family is unjust. This is the true conspiracy, and it must be revealed. I call upon Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take action against those spreading false propaganda,” he urged.
He also emphasized that the investigation should be comprehensive and impartial.
