On Friday, State Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao stated, "This year, Karnataka has recorded 35 cases of Covid-19, with 32 of those originating from Bengaluru."

In an update, a nine-month-old infant has tested positive for Covid-19 in Bengaluru, as confirmed by health department officials on Friday.
The infant tested positive via a Rapid Antigen Test on May 22 and is currently under observation at Vani Vilas Hospital, without any complications. The baby is from Hoskote, a town on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urged the Central government to implement precautionary measures in response to the surge in Covid-19 cases nationwide.
During a media briefing, Siddaramaiah pointed out the increasing cases in regions like Singapore and Hong Kong, stressing that the Central government has yet to initiate testing protocols for international travelers.
He warned, "The likelihood of escalating Covid-19 cases here is significant. The Central government must act promptly and take necessary precautions given the current rise in cases."
