New Delhi, Feb 7 (NationPress) Ghaziabad Police apprehended two suspected cow smugglers following a confrontation in the Tronica City area, authorities confirmed on Friday. A coordinated effort involving the SWAT team, DCP Rural, and Tronica City Police resulted in the capture of the suspects after a short chase. Both suspects suffered leg injuries during the gunfire exchange before being subdued and placed in custody.

The detained individuals have been named as Sajid alias Sadua and Bajju alias Wajahat, both of whom were wanted in various cases concerning cow slaughter.

Sajid had a bounty of ₹25,000 linked to a cow slaughter case in Amroha, whereas Bajju faced a ₹15,000 reward for similar crimes.

During the operation, the police recovered illegal firearms, knives, ropes, and other implements related to cow slaughter from the suspects.

Authorities have also connected the duo to a recent incident where four bovine carcasses were discovered discarded in plastic bags within a roadside sewer pit in Tronica City.

According to investigators, the accused were part of a well-organized gang operating throughout Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad, Noida, Sambhal, Amroha, and surrounding areas.

Their method involved stealing cows from various locations using a Honda City vehicle, transporting them to Delhi for slaughter, and subsequently disposing of the remains in Tronica City to avoid detection.

Police records indicate that the two suspects have more than two dozen criminal cases lodged against them, including charges under the Gangster Act, Arms Act, cow slaughter laws, theft, and attempted murder. Authorities are now probing their broader network and any additional crimes they might be associated with.

Remarkably, two of their accomplices were arrested just two days prior in another police encounter, highlighting that this was a highly organized gang involved in cow smuggling and illegal slaughter operations. The police are continuing their investigation to identify other members and dismantle the entire network.
