New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) On the threshold of International Women’s Day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh engaged with the crew members of Navika Sagar Parikrama II (NSP II), Lt Cdr Dilna K and Lt Cdr Roopa A, of the Indian Navy via video conferencing.
Their sailing vessel INSV Tarini, currently located in the South Atlantic Ocean, is approximately 450 nautical miles from their last port of call at Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, en route to Cape Town, South Africa.
During this interaction, the Raksha Mantri praised the bravery, commitment, and perseverance of the NSP II crew, who have embarked on a demanding journey to circumnavigate the globe, as part of India’s ongoing efforts to highlight Nari Shakti in high-endurance missions.
He expressed his congratulations to the crew for their noteworthy achievements, such as crossing Point Nemo, the most isolated area of the ocean, and navigating through the Drake Passage, known for its perilous conditions.
