New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) - The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi has declared that, commencing April 15, all flights operating from Terminal 2 will transition to Terminal 1 due to significant maintenance and runway upgrade activities. This change aims to bolster infrastructure and enhance the passenger experience at T2.

Airlines are actively issuing travel advisories, encouraging passengers to verify updated schedules as the runway renovations might result in delays or rescheduling of flights.

Prominent Indian airlines, such as IndiGo Airlines, Air India, and Akasa Air, have confirmed that all flights originally set to depart from Terminal 2 will now take off from Terminal 1 starting April 15 until further notice.

"Effective April 15, 2025 (0001 hrs), all flights currently operating from Terminal 2 will be relocated to Terminal 1 until further notice. This adjustment is a result of scheduled maintenance work at Terminal 2, which will be non-operational during this timeframe. IndiGo has issued a notification advising passengers to confirm their terminal and flight status on the airline’s official website prior to arriving at the airport, as flight schedules may have been altered.

“Due to planned maintenance, flights initially scheduled from Delhi Terminal 2 have now been reassigned to Terminal 1 starting April 15, 2025. We kindly request you to verify the terminal details and your flight status on our website before proceeding to the airport, as there may be modifications to flight schedules,” IndiGo stated in a post on X.

This transition is part of an infrastructure improvement project, with T2 slated for refurbishment lasting four to six months, projected to finish by the September quarter of the next financial year.

The relocation is part of a broader initiative to upgrade Terminal 2 to cater to the rising volume of passengers, following the completion of work on the expansion of Terminal 1.
