New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) India’s premier airline IndiGo on Monday disclosed that effective Tuesday (April 15), all its flights previously operating from Terminal 2 (T2) at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi will now transition to Terminal 1 (T1).
As a result of this adjustment, IndiGo flights will be accommodated at both T1 and Terminal 3 (T3), as confirmed by the airline.
“With the execution of this modification, IndiGo will now function from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi,” the airline stated in a release.
This transition follows the decision by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) to close Terminal 2 for significant maintenance and runway enhancement activities.
Part of an infrastructure overhaul strategy, T2 will remain inactive for the upcoming four to six months. Airlines have been directed to relocate their operations to T1 and T3 during this timeframe.
The airport authority had previously indicated that the renovation is expected to be finalized by the September quarter of the following financial year.
To reduce disruption and confusion, IndiGo has released an advisory for all travelers. The airline stated it is actively notifying passengers and travel agents via SMS, phone calls, and emails.
It has also encouraged travelers to retrieve their PNR on the IndiGo website or mobile application to verify the latest terminal and flight information before making their way to the airport.
“Due to a scheduled maintenance operation, flights initially arranged from Delhi Terminal 2 have now been reassigned to Terminal 1 starting April 15, 2025,” IndiGo mentioned.
“We kindly ask all passengers to check the terminal specifics and their flight status on our website prior to arriving at the airport, as flight schedules may be subject to change,” it added.
IndiGo also reaffirmed its dedication to delivering a seamless travel experience, assuring passengers of affordable, on-time, and hassle-free services throughout its network.
