New Delhi, Oct 21 (NationPress) IndiGo is set to recommence its operations from Terminal 2 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport starting October 26, following a temporary relocation earlier this year for maintenance purposes, as announced by the low-cost carrier on Tuesday.
This decision aligns with the airline’s updated terminal strategy designed to enhance passenger convenience and optimize operations throughout the airport.
IndiGo will now be conducting flights from all three terminals – T1, T2, and T3 – with a restructured allocation of flight numbers to boost airport efficiency and passenger comfort.
According to the new arrangement, all IndiGo flights numbered 6E 2000 to 6E 2999 will operate to and from Terminal 2, which is reopening specifically for IndiGo services.
Flights numbered 6E 5000 to 6E 5999, in addition to all international flights, will utilize Terminal 3 for departures and arrivals.
Furthermore, other domestic IndiGo flights will persist in operating from Terminal 1, as confirmed by the airline.
“With the aim of enhancing customer convenience and airport efficiency, IndiGo will operate flights numbered 6E 2000 – 6E 2999 to/from Terminal 2, while flights numbered 6E 5000 – 6E 5999 and all international flights will function to/from Terminal 3. The other domestic flights will continue to operate to/from Terminal 1,” the airline stated.
This adjustment comes after a temporary transfer in April 2025, when all of IndiGo's flights were shifted from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 due to maintenance work.
With Terminal 2 reopening, the airline has fully restored its operations across all terminals.
IndiGo urges passengers to verify their flight numbers and terminal details meticulously before traveling, as terminal changes could bring about flight schedule modifications.
Travelers can access the most recent updates on IndiGo’s official website or mobile application.
In addition, IndiGo is broadening its international reach with the introduction of daily direct flights between New Delhi and Guangzhou, China, commencing on November 10.
This route will be serviced using the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft. The flight from Delhi is scheduled to depart at 9:45 PM, reaching Guangzhou at 4:40 AM, while the return flight will leave at 5:50 AM, arriving in Delhi at 10:10 AM.
This marks a pivotal advancement in reinstating air connectivity between India and China after a prolonged hiatus since 2020.
Recently, IndiGo also recommenced daily flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou on October 26, becoming one of the pioneering Indian airlines to restore direct service to China.
