According to an Air India spokesperson, “Terminal 2 provides a greatly enhanced passenger experience with modern amenities designed for greater convenience and comfort.”
The spokesperson continued, “We are actively informing all passengers about the terminal transition to ensure a seamless experience.”
Spanning an area of 49,000 sq. m, Terminal 2 is outfitted with 52 check-in counters, self-baggage drop kiosks, 'DigiYatra' kiosks, 17 departure immigration counters, 22 arrival immigration counters, eight Fast Track Immigration e-gates for both departures and arrivals, plus a diverse selection of retail and dining options.

As stated by airport sources, “The relocation of one of the largest airlines to Terminal 2 is aimed at capacity enhancement. Currently, Terminal 2 manages approximately 50 to 55 flights daily, primarily servicing international operations, along with a few domestic regional flights.
Traffic also includes international airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, and Etihad, collectively operating about 25 to 27 flights each day.
The airport's overall daily flight volume stands at around 300 flights.
