New Delhi, Jan 19 (NationPress) A total of 719 candidates are still contesting in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Sunday, following the submission of 1,522 nomination sets, including duplicates, prior to the scrutiny by the Election Commission in anticipation of polling on February 5, an official statement disclosed.

The definitive list of candidates for each of the 70 constituencies will be published on Monday, which marks the last opportunity for eligible candidates to withdraw their names.

In the meantime, a walkathon was held on Sunday by students from Maharaja Agrasen College in East Delhi to promote awareness regarding the significance of voting in the upcoming Delhi Legislative Assembly Election 2025.

This event sought to motivate the public, particularly young voters, to take part in the democratic process.

The walkathon saw enthusiastic involvement from students, faculty, and local residents.

With banners, placards, and slogans stressing the importance of voting, participants urged the community to exercise their voting rights and play a role in shaping Delhi's future.
