New Delhi, Nov 2 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP has criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj for disseminating falsehoods regarding the accomplishments of the Rekha Gupta-led government in enhancing the Yamuna's condition and addressing air pollution.
Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor stated that in his bid to undermine the BJP government, Bharadwaj unintentionally acknowledged that the Yamuna was in a dire state during his party's leadership up until January 2025.
"Motivated by political animosity, Saurabh Bharadwaj continues to engage in a mix of truth and deception, dismissing the initiatives of the Rekha Gupta government aimed at cleansing the Yamuna and mitigating air pollution," Kapoor remarked.
"In his fervor to propagate inaccuracies regarding the Yamuna cleaning initiatives, Bharadwaj inadvertently scored a significant self-goal when he claimed in a live video that the Yamuna has reverted to its previous polluted state," he elaborated.
The reference to the "old polluted condition" pertains to the state in which the Arvind Kejriwal-Atishi administration left the Yamuna in January–February 2025, Kapoor noted.
The Delhi BJP Spokesperson remarked that AAP leader Bharadwaj's comments signify the AAP government's inability to address the Yamuna cleanliness issue, despite holding power for a decade.
He acknowledged that the river has reverted to the same disgusting condition it was left in by the Kejriwal government in January 2025.
The BJP representative asserted that AAP leader Bharadwaj's statements constitute a political blunder.
He added that in politics, just like in everyday life, excessive talking often leads to setbacks, and once again, Delhi's defeated and frustrated AAP Spokesman and leader Bharadwaj has "scored another political self-goal due to his tendency to over-explain."
Charging the AAP leader with spreading misinformation, BJP leader Kapoor, in a message on X, stated, "Brother Saurabh Bhardwaj ji, today you claim that pollution statistics are being manipulated through smog guns and sprinklers -- how could you forget that during your administration, Environment Minister and self-styled expert #GopalRai used to announce data every morning claiming that the government had installed numerous sprinklers and smog guns to reduce pollution?"
"@Saurabh_MLAgk brother, if the government is currently manipulating pollution data with sprinklers, why didn’t this occur during your tenure? How many lies do you tell?" BJP leader Kapoor questioned.
