Sandhu at Lok Niwas, with discussions centred on key development priorities for the capital — including infrastructure expansion, public transport promotion, and pre-monsoon flood mitigation measures. The high-level meeting signals a coordinated push between the elected government and the LG's office ahead of the monsoon season.

The Lok Niwas office confirmed the meeting in a post on X, stating that 'discussions focussed on key issues related to the development and growth of Delhi.' Chief Minister Gupta has previously asserted that any work concerning Delhi's residents will be carried through, and Monday's meeting reinforced that stance.

Among the notable announcements linked to the government's development agenda: ₹150 crore has been earmarked for the development of Dwarka, alongside a ₹6,200 crore Metro expansion project stretching from Kirti Nagar to Palam. The Metro corridor project is among the largest single transit investments in the capital in recent years.

Metro Monday: Ministers Take Public Transport

Earlier on the same day, Chief Minister Gupta participated in the 'Metro Monday' initiative, launched under the broader 'Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan' public campaign. The initiative urges citizens to choose public transport, conserve fuel, and engage responsibly with civic life.

Gupta began her day by walking from her residence on Raj Niwas Marg in Civil Lines to nearby Lok Niwas. She then travelled by electric car to Kashmere Gate Metro Station, boarded the Delhi Metro to ITO Metro Station, and used a feeder bus to reach the Delhi Secretariat. Cabinet Ministers Parvesh Verma and Ravinder Indraj accompanied her during the commute.

Following the Chief Minister's lead, all Delhi Government ministers and senior officials commuted to their offices using the Metro and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses on Monday.

Chief Minister Gupta described the 'Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan' campaign as more than a government initiative — calling it a 'movement for public participation.' She said even small individual efforts in the national interest contribute meaningfully to energy security, environmental protection, and economic balance.
