Singh described the incident as profoundly painful and heartbreaking, highlighting that Tarun was a promising young man who represented hope for his family's future.
He lamented that the spirit of Holi, which embodies love and unity, had been marred by the violent actions of a few individuals, which is truly unfortunate.
Minister Singh affirmed the Delhi government's unwavering support for the victim’s family during this challenging time.
He guaranteed that the perpetrators would face the strictest penalties for their heinous actions and that justice would be pursued rigorously.
Singh reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring justice for the victim's family, emphasizing that all necessary measures would be taken.
He made it clear that the Delhi government would impose stringent actions against anyone threatening societal peace and brotherhood, ensuring that no one guilty would evade justice.
Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh also condemned the incident, stating, “I am here to extend my condolences to the family, and I assure them that the Delhi Police will take strict action.”
Meanwhile, tensions persisted in Uttam Nagar’s JJ Colony following the violent outburst during the Holi festivities, which ultimately led to the youth's death. Security forces have been heavily deployed to restore law and order in the area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Niharika Bhatt, visited the family in JJ Colony to evaluate the situation and oversee security measures.
The DCP confirmed that five individuals have been apprehended in relation to this case, with ongoing investigations aimed at bringing all involved parties to justice.
According to police sources, the initial dispute arose when colored water from a balloon accidentally splashed onto a woman from a neighboring family, an incident sparked by an 11-year-old girl playing Holi with her relatives on a terrace. This minor incident escalated into a violent confrontation.
