New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) The weather has turned chilly across the entire National Capital Region (NCR), including Delhi, following an evening drizzle.
This abrupt shift in weather was attributed to ongoing rain and snowfall in the mountainous regions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the sky remained overcast with light rain in Delhi and NCR on March 3 (Monday). The minimum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius, whereas the maximum temperature reached 28 degrees Celsius.
Forecasts from the Met department indicate that on March 4, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi will likely range from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius and 13 to 15 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The IMD has also predicted strong winds over the next two days, with light fog potentially appearing in the mornings. By March 5, the maximum temperature is expected to be 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is projected to be around 14 degrees Celsius. Following this, a further drop in temperature is anticipated from March 6 due to strong winds.
According to the Met Department, the proximity of Delhi and NCR to hilly areas like Himachal and Uttarakhand contributes to the sudden weather changes, making local residents feel the cold more acutely.
This week, weather patterns across the NCR are expected to be varied. While there is a chance of light rain and drizzle at times, strong winds and fog will also be present.
The IMD has indicated that light fog will persist on March 6 and 7, with the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi expected to be between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius and 12 to 14 degrees Celsius, respectively, on March 6.
