New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) On Friday, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police dismantled an organized MDMA (Ecstasy) distribution network in South Delhi, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of a substantial amount of narcotics.

Officials reported that 19.15 grams of MDMA, including 29 Ecstasy tablets and MDMA crystals, were seized during the operation. The suspects were caught before they could escape, revealing a hidden network that utilized taxis and concealed packaging for drug distribution.

As part of a nationwide effort to combat drug trafficking, the Central Range of the Crime Branch has been taking rigorous measures against narcotics offenders. Acting on reliable intelligence, a raiding team led by Inspector Vinay Kumar, along with SI Dinesh Kumar and Head Constables Ashwani, Pankaj, Harender, Gaurav, Ankur, and Karamjeet, was formed under the direct oversight of ACP, Central Range, Satendra Mohan and senior officers.

In the early hours of April 12–13, the team executed a raid in the Hargovind Enclave area of Chhattarpur. They intercepted a taxi and arrested Deepak Kumar, 37, a resident of Govindpuri, Kalkaji.

Upon searching him, the police discovered 25 Ecstasy pills and MDMA in crystal form weighing 14.95 grams, categorizing it as a commercial quantity indicative of organized drug trafficking.

During detailed interrogation and technical analysis, Deepak revealed that he was serving as a carrier for a supplier. Promptly acting on this information, the police identified and detained the supplier, Md. Farhan alias Sunny, 33, who resides in Pariyavaran Complex, Saket, just before he could escape.

Officials disclosed that both suspects operated in a secretive manner, frequently changing mobile devices, SIM cards, and locations, complicating their identification and tracking.

Investigations indicated that Farhan was the primary conspirator managing a delivery-focused drug distribution system. He disguised his vehicle as a taxi during the day to avoid detection and utilized the same car for drug distribution at night.

Farhan allegedly recruited cab drivers to serve as carriers for the doorstep delivery of narcotics, cleverly hiding the contraband in Maggi packets to avoid detection. He maintained contacts within party circles and supplied drugs to select clients, frequently altering his communication methods.

It was also revealed that he was sourcing MDMA from an identified African national, with efforts underway to apprehend him.

During a follow-up search at Farhan’s rented apartment in Saket, an additional 4.2 grams of MDMA were found, increasing the total seizure to 19.15 grams.

The police also confiscated the vehicle utilized for transport and the mobile phones used for coordination.

A case (FIR No. 83/26 dated April 13) has been registered under Sections 22, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act at the Crime Branch police station. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover the source, financial pathways, and broader network, with more arrests and recoveries anticipated.

Deepak Kumar reportedly entered the drug trade due to financial difficulties and was responsible for transportation and last-mile delivery. He has a prior involvement in a robbery case registered at the Kalkaji police station.

Farhan alias Sunny initially worked as a driver but later ventured into the narcotics trade due to lucrative profit margins. He forged connections within party circles and with foreign nationals to establish an organized supply network. No previous criminal record has been found against him.
