New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) The Delhi Police successfully dismantled an illegal gambling operation situated close to the railway line in the Delhi Cantt region, leading to the arrest of seven suspects involved in the illicit activity.

This operation was executed by a specialized team from the Operations Cell of the South-West District, following precise intelligence inputs.

As reported by police officials, all seven individuals were apprehended within the jurisdiction of the Delhi Cantt Police Station. The detainees have been named as Saleem Khan alias Raja (40) from Bindapur; Jasim Khan (29) from Dabri; Abhishek (22) from Delhi Cantt; Sunny Kumar (40) from Raghubir Nagar; Pawan (48) from Delhi Cantt; Ramesh Chand (52) from Delhi Cantt; and Md. Bashim (26) from Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar.

During the operation, authorities seized a total of Rs 36,050 in stake money, along with various items including a flex chart, two ballpoint pens, two notepads used for documenting betting records, a calculator, and three carbon papers. All these items were confiscated as evidence.

Swiftly responding, a team led by Sub Inspector Ram Pratap, along with ASIs Dharmendra and Vinod Kumar, Head Constables Mohit, Bharat, Pradeep, Narendra, Devender, and Constable Sri Ram, operated under the guidance of Inspector Ram Kumar, who is in charge of AATS/SWD, and under the oversight of ACP Operations Sanghamitra.

After validating the information through local inquiries, the police set a trap at the specified location. Following the informer’s guidance, a raid was executed, resulting in the discovery of seven individuals engaged in gambling activities with numbered pads.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 233/26 at the Delhi Cantt Police Station under pertinent sections of the Delhi Public Gambling Act, and all suspects have been detained.
