New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) - On Friday, the Delhi Police announced that they have successfully apprehended all remaining fugitive suspects involved in the assault case concerning a Brigadier and his son.
Law enforcement officials reported that the following individuals, who had previously evaded capture, are now in custody: Surjit Singh (36), a Mehram Nagar local; Sunil Sharma (53), also from Mehram Nagar; Ashish (32), another resident of Mehram Nagar; and Satender (35), hailing from Bhiwani, Haryana.
According to police sources, Surjit Singh was acquainted with the primary suspect, Satender. The group was allegedly together in Mehram Nagar when Satender mentioned a dispute occurring in Vasant Enclave. They subsequently drove to the scene in Surjit’s white vehicle. Upon arrival, an argument ensued, leading them to return to their homes.
However, once they were informed that a formal complaint had been filed, the suspects fled to avoid being arrested. They were later located and taken into custody by the police. The vehicle implicated in the incident has been recovered, and a detailed investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, on April 14, authorities arrested two other suspects and seized a Mercedes reportedly involved in the altercation. One of these individuals, Satender alias Sonu (49), is the son of Banwari Lal and resides in Mehram Nagar. He is believed to be a director at Chaudhary Aviation Pvt Ltd, a firm engaged in chartered and cargo flight services, along with aircraft trading.
The second individual, Sanjay Sharma (56), son of Laxmi Narayan Sharma, also lives in Mehram Nagar and operates a local restaurant.
In the meantime, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor T. S. Sandhu expressed significant concern regarding the incident that occurred in Vasant Enclave, which involved the assault on the Brigadier, his wife, and their son, a 23-year-old IIT Delhi graduate. He confirmed that measures have been directed to guarantee the complete safety of the officer and his family.
The assault reportedly unfolded when the Brigadier went for a walk with his son post-dinner. Outside their home, they observed two men drinking alcohol in a parked white Mercedes. When the officer intervened, a confrontation arose, during which the individuals allegedly summoned their associates, who then attacked the Brigadier and his son.
