New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) – Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Taranjit Singh Sandhu commended the Delhi Police for their swift action in apprehending two suspects linked to the assault on a senior Army officer and his son in Vasant Vihar.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, L-G Sandhu expressed, "I commend @DelhiPolice for their prompt response in the Vasant Enclave incident. With the two primary suspects now detained and the vehicle confiscated, it's essential that the investigation is expedited to ensure that all involved parties face justice."

The L-G emphasized, "Our commitment to safeguarding our citizens and upholding the rule of law remains unwavering."

One suspect has been identified as Satender, also known as Sonu (49), son of Banwari Lal, residing at 8/123, Mehram Nagar. He holds the position of director at Chaudhary Aviation Private Limited, a company specializing in chartered and cargo flight services, as well as trading in aircraft and their components.

The second suspect, Sanjay Sharma (56), son of Laxmi Narayan Sharma, lives at 8/142, Mehram Nagar and operates Pandit Ji Dhaba.

Earlier that day, L-G Sandhu voiced his serious concerns regarding the violent incident in Vasant Enclave that involved the Brigadier, his wife, and their 23-year-old son, a graduate of IIT Delhi.

He has instructed the Delhi Police to ensure comprehensive security for the Army officer and his family.

"I am deeply troubled by the incident in Vasant Enclave involving the assault on a serving Brigadier of the Indian Army, along with his wife and son, who is a recent IIT Delhi graduate," L-G Sandhu remarked.

The L-G also revealed that he personally reached out to the Brigadier to inquire about the incident and their well-being.

"I have also discussed the matter with the Police Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, urging them to conduct a thorough and rapid investigation leading to immediate actions against those accountable," he added.
