New Delhi, March 11 (NationPress) The newly designated Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, is set to take his oath of office and secrecy today, Wednesday. The solemn ceremony will take place at 1:30 PM at Lok Niwas, where the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court will officially administer the oath, marking his formal appointment as the 23rd Lieutenant Governor of the national capital.
His predecessor, V K Saxena, has been assigned as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh and is expected to take charge this Friday.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu, a seasoned Indian diplomat, previously served as India’s Ambassador to the United States from February 2020 until January 31, 2024. He joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1988 and is recognized for his pivotal role in establishing the Indian Embassy in Ukraine.
