Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Cachar, Partha Pratim Das, confirmed on Tuesday that a case has been registered, one suspect has been arrested, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend another individual.
“We are examining this case from all possible angles, including extortion and rape, along with any other relevant factors. I urge the public to remain calm and avoid panic until the investigation is clarified,” he stated.
The SSP further mentioned that the final medical report from Silchar Medical College and Hospital is still pending, and an official statement will be released once the inquiry concludes.
