New Delhi, June 22 (NationPress) In a significant accomplishment for the Delhi Police, a recurrent house burglar was detained by the Anti-Burglary Cell on Sunday for the theft of a Crompton water motor from a home in Hauz Khas Enclave.

The suspect, identified as Raja Das (29), a resident of Chirag Delhi originally from Howrah, West Bengal, was captured after the police diligently reviewed over 50 CCTV camera recordings from the vicinity.

As per an official statement from the South-West District Police, the incident was reported on June 18 at the Safdarjung Enclave police station. The complaint was lodged by Reeta, a local resident who reported the theft of her water motor.

The police further disclosed Raja Das’s criminal background. A school dropout after Class 5, Raja migrated to Delhi in 2000 and previously worked as a private driver in the Safdarjung Enclave area. Unfortunately, he fell into bad company, developed an addiction to ganja and alcohol, and resorted to thefts to support his habits. He has four previous theft cases registered at the Malviya Nagar police station in 2024 and had spent three months in jail.
