New Delhi, Sep 28 (NationPress) In a significant operation aimed at dismantling an unlawful weapons network, Delhi Police have taken into custody six individuals associated with the Kala Jathedi gang, according to officials.
The authorities have seized six pistols and 13 live cartridges from the arrested suspects.
The individuals apprehended include Sahdev alias Dev, Sahil, Rohit, Satyanarayan, Raj Rahul, and Ravinder, the police disclosed.
During questioning, Sahdev admitted to procuring illegal firearms from Aligarh and distributing them to gang members as per their requests.
At Sahdev's instruction, other gang associates were also apprehended, said Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Harsh Indora in a statement.
Elaborating on the arrest's timeline, DCP Indora mentioned that the police received intelligence indicating that Rohit and his accomplices were traveling to Delhi through Uttar Pradesh.
The police successfully halted their vehicle at the Noida-Delhi border, leading to the arrests.

On Thursday, Delhi Police dismantled an extortion ring by arresting three active members of the Kala Jathedi gang in Janakpuri.

Among those arrested, two had prior criminal charges and had recently been released on bail for similar offenses.
The first suspect was identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Amit Chandok, a 37-year-old resident of Nihal Vihar.
Chandok has been implicated in over 18 criminal cases, including snatching, robbery, attempted murder, and extortion, according to police reports.
The second suspect, Gurpreet alias Manni, 30, also from Nihal Vihar, has been involved in more than four cases of extortion and attempted murder.
The third individual arrested was Gurjeet Singh, 35, hailing from Virender Nagar, as added by the police.
