New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) – In two distinct operations, the Delhi Police have effectively disrupted street crime activities in the South-West and Dwarka districts, apprehending key suspects linked to mobile theft and chain snatching incidents. This initiative resulted in substantial recoveries and the resolution of numerous cases, as stated in official press communications released on Monday.

In the South-West District, officers from Police Station Sagarpur apprehended two suspects, Ayush alias Nikku and Abhishek, who were involved in a mobile phone theft and dismantling syndicate. Police seized 15 stolen mobile devices, an ASUS laptop, a Lenovo tablet, a charger, and dismantled phone components from their possession. Four theft cases registered at Police Station Sagarpur were resolved during this operation.

The press release noted, "a specialized team was formed to tackle mobile theft incidents in the area." Acting on reports, the team detained Ayush near Durga Park and Nagarvan Park on April 10, where they recovered two stolen phones. His interrogation prompted the arrest of co-accused Abhishek, who was found with more stolen devices and parts.

Authorities detailed the modus operandi, explaining that Ayush stole mobile phones and supplied them to Abhishek, who dismantled and sold the components. "Efforts are ongoing to identify the masterminds, suppliers, and the entire network behind this illegal operation," the release stated.

In a separate incident, the Bindapur police in Dwarka District arrested two individuals involved in a gold chain snatching case near Uttam Nagar West Metro. The suspects, identified as Chandan (36) and Rohan Seth (22), were tracked down after reviewing over 250 CCTV cameras.

The police elaborated on the operation, explaining that the suspects were identified through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage and technical monitoring. "The police successfully identified the motorcycle rider, who was also the owner of the bike used in the crime," the release highlighted. The stolen gold chain was partially recovered from Rohan's home, along with the motorcycle used during the incident.

During questioning, the suspects admitted to committing the crime due to financial hardships and unemployment. The case, registered under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), has been effectively resolved.

Both incidents underscore the Delhi Police's intensified commitment and zero tolerance towards crime, with further investigations underway to unveil larger criminal networks.
