New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) Following a Rs 60 increase in the cost of domestic LPG cylinders, residents from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra expressed their worries on Saturday regarding the escalating cost of living. They voiced that this hike would greatly impact their household budgets and daily expenditures.

Numerous residents remarked that cooking gas is a vital essential, and the price surge will complicate financial management for both middle-class and lower-income families.

Anupama, a Delhi resident, stated that while global events may be contributing to the price surge, she remains hopeful that the government will devise a solution. “As wars rage in various parts of the globe, it's affecting many nations. Since gas is primarily imported from Gulf countries, a price increase is to be expected. I trust the government will find a way out. During these challenging times, we should rally behind our government,” she expressed.

Another Delhi resident, Ashu Sharma, underscored the significance of LPG in everyday life, saying, “LPG cylinders are a fundamental necessity. They are crucial for cooking in every home.”

A local from Delhi also shared concerns about the financial strain on middle-class families, stating, “We are in a tough spot. As middle-class citizens, managing our livelihoods is becoming increasingly challenging.”

In Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, a businessman mentioned that the persistent rise in prices is causing hardships for people. “The ongoing conflict and the continuous price hikes are creating serious issues for individuals. While incomes remain low, expenses keep climbing,” he stated.

Residents in Ayodhya echoed similar sentiments, expressing that the LPG price increase is further complicating their financial situations. “There are numerous challenges. Life is becoming chaotic, and people are struggling with both gas availability and escalating prices,” a local remarked.

Another Ayodhya resident pointed out that despite the price hike, using cooking gas is unavoidable. “The rising gas prices make life extremely challenging. Even with increasing costs, we have no choice but to continue using it as it is a necessity,” they said.

A third local mentioned that even a minor price increase noticeably affects household expenses, adding, “A significant price rise definitely poses a problem. Yet, we must purchase it as we have no alternative. Even simple tasks at home become pricier.”

Another resident called on the government to assist economically disadvantaged groups, stating, “As cooking gas prices soar, ordinary citizens are facing financial struggles. The government must provide support to the impoverished. With the rising costs of everything, it's becoming exceedingly difficult to cope.”

In Mumbai, a woman articulated that the price hike would exacerbate the challenges faced by families already in financial distress. “If we aren’t receiving our regular wages, how can we sustain our household? It’s been two to three months without payment for our work. How will we manage cooking or other family expenses when the prices of vegetables, LPG cylinders, and other daily essentials are constantly on the rise?” she questioned.
