New Delhi, April 28 (NationPress) In a significant green step, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has mandated the transition from all diesel and petrol vehicles used by the Forest Department to electric vehicles (EVs) within a 60-day timeframe, as confirmed by an official statement on Monday.
The Minister emphasized that this initiative is crucial for reducing pollution levels in forest regions and protecting wildlife.
The Forest Department has been directed to undertake a comprehensive vehicle assessment and present a transition plan in seven days.
Effective immediately, the entry of all non-essential, non-electric vehicles—both government and private—into Delhi's forests and protected areas has been banned, the official noted.
