Deportation of Bangladeshi Mother and Son Living Illegally in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 31 (NationPress) As part of a heightened campaign against unlawful immigrants and refugees, the Delhi Police on Tuesday carried out the deportation of two Bangladeshi individuals, a mother and her son. Both had been residing in the national capital under false identities and counterfeit documents since 2005.

The individuals, known as Nazma Khan alias Kajol and her 22-year-old son Naim Khan, were recently detained by the South West division of the Delhi Police. Nazma was apprehended on December 30, while her son was taken into custody the previous day, December 29.

Nazma had entered India approximately two decades ago through the Benapole border and had been working as a domestic helper near Katwaria Sarai. Her son, Naim Khan, crossed into the country via the West Bengal border in 2020 and was living with her when law enforcement arrived searching for them.

Their arrest and subsequent deportation followed a systematic verification initiative alongside a crackdown on illegal migrants, executed by various teams within the Delhi Police.

The duo fell into the police's net after authorities received a tip regarding their unlawful residency in India.

On December 29, one of the patrol teams obtained confidential information about an undocumented Bangladeshi national at Shastri Market near Pippal Chowk. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the police team proceeded to the location and found the suspected individual. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Naim Khan, revealing he had entered India from Bangladesh a few years prior.

The two Bangladeshi nationals were deported under the regulations set by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which verifies the addresses of foreigners in their home country and facilitates their deportation.

Importantly, the South West District Police has ramped up efforts to identify, detain, and repatriate individuals living in India without valid documentation. A specialized team of police officials has been assigned to conduct comprehensive searches and gather intelligence to locate undocumented immigrants. This team is actively seeking more illegal migrants who may be residing unlawfully in the capital.
