New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) “Lakshadweep is no longer India's hidden paradise. The visit of the honourable Prime Minister has placed it on the global tourist map,” stated Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar during his visit to the union territory on Friday.
“Development in our nation is impacting the lives of individuals just as the sun brightens every corner of the earth,” he remarked.
While addressing a public event at the Panchayat Stage on Agatti Island, the Vice President expressed, “My visit represents a journey of discovery and personal growth.”
“Bharat is witnessing unprecedented growth under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Currently, Bharat stands as the world's fifth largest economy. In two years, we expect to be the third largest global economy, and by 2047, Bharat will be a developed nation,” highlighted V-P Dhankhar.
“In recent years, the lives of ordinary citizens have significantly improved. Every home now has a toilet, piped water, and gas connections—what remarkable achievements! Today, I have contributed everything from bicycles to computers, and just imagine, from healthcare to solar housing. We must all commit to prioritizing our nation,” he added.
Praising the unspoiled beauty and recent development initiatives in Lakshadweep, Dhankhar stated, “Lakshadweep may be small in size, but it has a very large heart. The Bangaram Island Tent City Resort is a revolutionary development in tourism, spanning 17,500 square meters of world-class hospitality. It is a true paradise for tourists... Lakshadweep embodies our culture, unity in diversity, and our commitment to a healthy environment.”
The Vice-President also inaugurated the Low Temperature Thermal Desalination Plant on Chetlat Island and the Nandhar Anganwadi on Kalpeni Island remotely. Later, he will visit Bangaram Island and inaugurate the Tent City on Saturday.
Upon arrival at the airport, the Vice-President was welcomed by Praful Patel, the Administrator of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, along with other dignitaries. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar were also greeted by a band of girl students at Agatti airport.
Present at the event were Praful Patel, Administrator of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Muhammed Hamdulla Sayeed, Member of Lok Sabha, and other dignitaries.
