Kolkata, Feb 28 (NationPress) The emergence of India as one of the leading developed nations worldwide is no longer just a dream but a tangible reality, stated Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday.

“India is progressing steadily and is on the right path toward economic growth. Thus, the notion that our nation will soon be among the top developed nations globally is no longer a dream but a factual reality,” he mentioned while addressing a program in Kolkata.

This marked Jagdeep Dhankhar's inaugural visit to West Bengal since assuming the role of Vice President. During his address, he emphasized the importance of preserving the spiritual consciousness of India, which he believes is the foundation of the nation's enduring civilizational ethos.

Discussing Sanatan Dharma, the Vice President noted that it embodies principles of universality, inclusivity, and patriotism, transcending caste, creed, and economic disparities.

“India boasts a cultural legacy that spans over 5,000 years. This is why India has been recognized as the spiritual hub of the world. We must maintain this momentum,” he expressed.

Earlier, he participated in prayers at the Tarapith temple in Birbhum district. “I am deeply humbled by the divine Darshan of Maa Tara at the revered Tarapith temple. I felt blessed to pray for the advancement of Bharat, the wellbeing of all citizens, and universal harmony,” Dhankhar shared on his official X account.

Recently, he also conveyed his wish to address the West Bengal Assembly. Given that there has been no precedent or provision for any Indian Vice-President to address this assembly, his speech could not be included in any standard session of the house.

However, there are discussions of convening a special session soon to enable him to address the assembly.
