The Union Minister recently engaged with policymakers, educational leaders, and technology entrepreneurs to explore the potential of AI in transforming India’s education landscape, in alignment with the NEP 2020 goals.
On a related note, the Chief Minister took significant action on Monday to enhance the cleanliness and development of the national capital by providing over Rs 3,000 crore in special financial support to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), as reported by an official.
In terms of education financing, the Chief Minister revealed an additional Rs 50 crore for upgrading MCD primary schools. This funding will be directed towards improving school infrastructure, sanitation, modernizing classrooms, and creating a more conducive learning environment for students.
To modernize the city’s sanitation services, the Delhi Government has also sanctioned a long-term project estimated at around Rs 2,300 crore under a 10-year OPEX (Operational Expenditure) model.
As part of this initiative, 70 new mechanical road sweeping machines will be deployed to extend cleaning operations, working alongside existing equipment to ensure effective dust and waste management.
Moreover, the introduction of 1,000 electric litter pickers aims to enhance sanitation operations, making them more efficient, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced. The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative would provide a sustainable solution for pollution management.
A separate budget of Rs 50 crore has also been allocated for the renovation and upgrading of community buildings under the Municipal Corporation.
The Chief Minister remarked that nearly 298 community buildings, primarily in smaller colonies, are crucial for economically disadvantaged groups for weddings and various social events, highlighting the importance of their enhancement.
