Chennai, Oct 12 (NationPress) AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) stated on Sunday that the ruling DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu is experiencing significant internal divisions, with the Congress already pushing for a larger allocation of seats and an enhanced role in governance.
He emphasized that the DMK has no moral authority to comment on AIADMK's political partnerships.
Speaking to the media post a party event, EPS expressed confidence that the AIADMK enjoys robust public backing and will secure the next government in the State.
“With the blessings of the people, AIADMK will reclaim power and ensure that farmers receive the support they need,” he asserted. He noted that a considerable number of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) supporters enthusiastically participated in his public gatherings.
“We instructed TVK members to attend our rallies only after getting approval from their party leadership,” he clarified.
Palaniswami dismissed any criticisms from opposition parties, asserting that such remarks stem from frustration.
“They criticize us because they can’t handle our increasing popularity. When we partnered with the BJP previously, we were also targeted for that. Ultimately, it’s our choice who we align with,” he remarked.
Highlighting that parties like the Congress and VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi) remain allied with the DMK, EPS pointed out that they lack the right to question AIADMK's coalition strategies.
“Those already in alliance with the DMK have no authority to comment on our coalition decisions. AIADMK will align with any party that shares our vision and objectives. We are a movement of two crore dedicated supporters,” he declared.
Stressing his party’s democratic and adaptable approach, Palaniswami stated, “All parties in our alliance operate independently, which is not the case in the DMK coalition. The Congress has now started demanding more seats and a share in governance. These developments indicate that the DMK-led alliance is beginning to fracture.”
In conclusion, EPS reiterated that the DMK's partners lack the political credibility to comment on AIADMK's matters, stating, “It’s ironic that the DMK coalition, which struggles to maintain unity internally, dares to discuss our alliance strategies.”
