Hyderabad, Sep 23 (NationPress) The Cyberabad police have apprehended two auto-rickshaw drivers and a car driver in connection with the kidnapping, gang rape, and murder of a 32-year-old woman. Following the discovery of the victim's body in Kismathpur village, authorities were able to solve the case within a week, leading to the arrests of the three suspects: Gulam Dastagir Khan, 26, and Mohd. Imran, 25, both auto-rickshaw drivers, along with Meka Durga Reddy, a car driver.
The victim, who had been missing for three days, was found intoxicated by Durga Reddy on September 14. The accused lured her into his vehicle, offered her beer and biryani, and subsequently assaulted her near KLCC Function Hall, Sathmrai. He then dropped her off at Pillar Number 306, Aramghar X Roads. Following this, Dastagir and Imran coerced her into their rented auto, took her to Kismathpur Bridge, and gang-raped her. When she resisted, Khan violently attacked her with sticks, resulting in her death. They fled the scene, leaving her lifeless body hidden in the bushes.
Two days later, locals discovered the decomposed body and notified the police.
The Cyberabad Special Operations Team, alongside the Rajendranagar police, reviewed CCTV footage from roads leading to the crime scene. This investigation led them to the auto-rickshaw used in the crime.
Police identified the suspects, and during interrogation, they confessed to the heinous act. Upon reconstructing the crime scene, investigators found that someone had dropped the victim at Aramgarh, identifying that individual as Durga Reddy, who was subsequently taken in for questioning. He confessed to having sexually assaulted the woman.
After a comprehensive investigation, the police were able to solve the case and arrest the suspects.
All three accused have prior criminal records. Dastagir Khan had two theft cases against him at Gachibowli and Rajendra Nagar police stations, while Imran had a history of rash driving and attacking police officers. Durga Reddy is also implicated in four theft and assault cases.
