Hyderabad, Sep 11 (NationPress) Cyberabad Police have established five specialized teams aimed at apprehending two domestic workers accused of brutally murdering a 50-year-old woman in her apartment located in Kukatpally, making off with cash and gold ornaments.
The victim, Renu Agarwal, was discovered in a pool of blood when her husband, Rakesh Agarwal, and son returned home in the evening after their attempts to reach her went unanswered.
Law enforcement reports indicate that the attackers bound the woman's hands and feet before indiscriminately stabbing her with a knife and scissors.
Rakesh, who operates in the steel industry, along with his son, had departed for their shop at Fatehnagar earlier in the day, leaving Renu alone in their flat at Swan Lake Condominium.
According to preliminary investigations, Harsha (20), recently employed by the Agarwal family from Jharkhand, allegedly perpetrated this heinous act in collaboration with Roushan, also from Jharkhand, who was serving as a helper in a neighboring flat.
The investigation unveiled alarming details; the pair reportedly struck Renu on the head with a cooker before binding her. They tortured her in an attempt to extract the keys to her cupboards and lockers. The assailants not only took the gold jewelry she was wearing but also looted additional valuables.
After committing the crime, they reportedly bathed to eliminate any evidence before vacating the premises. CCTV footage captured the duo leaving the flat with a bag, and they were also seen in the lift.
Authorities believe the suspects fled on a two-wheeler belonging to Roushan's employer towards KPHB Colony, with suspicions that they have escaped to Ranchi.
The police have collected fingerprint evidence from the crime scene and are currently analyzing CCTV footage from various locations. A case has been filed under the applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Balanagar) K. Suresh Kumar stated that specialized teams have been assembled to locate the suspects. Investigators are also exploring whether the accused have any prior criminal records.
