Aizawl, April 12 (NationPress) In an impactful move designed to motivate and educate aspiring leaders, the Territorial Army, in partnership with a drone laboratory, hosted an interactive lecture and demonstration for enthusiastic NCC cadets in Mizoram, officials reported on Sunday.

Defence Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat noted that this educational event, organized by the 23 Sector Assam Rifles in Lunglei, Mizoram, offered NCC students a rare chance to observe and comprehend the cutting-edge drone technologies utilized by security forces in contemporary operations.

"The live showcase illustrated the functionalities, uses, and strategic significance of unmanned aerial vehicles in modern warfare and reconnaissance," he stated.

As per Lieutenant Colonel Rawat, the cadets displayed remarkable enthusiasm and inquisitiveness, actively participating with the presenters and acquiring invaluable insights into the latest advancements in defence technology.

"This interactive session aimed to equip future defenders with state-of-the-art drone technology, fostering a deeper appreciation for innovation within our armed forces," he emphasized.

This initiative represents a commendable step in cultivating young intellects and arming them with knowledge relevant to future warfare landscapes.

This exposure not only expands their understanding but also inspires them to play a significant role in enhancing the nation's security framework, as stated by the Spokesman.

Earlier this month, the Assam Rifles also conducted a drone awareness and training program for CISF personnel in Agartala, the capital of Tripura.

According to the Spokesperson, as the application of drones expands across both civilian and security sectors, the initiative aimed to familiarize CISF personnel with the evolving challenges presented by unmanned aerial systems and prepare them with essential skills for effective responses.

The drone training session included a comprehensive classroom module on drone familiarization.

Experts from Assam Rifles provided participants with insights into various types of drones, their capabilities, and the associated security risks.

Emphasis was placed on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including drone identification, threat evaluation, and appropriate countermeasures during possible encounters.

This was followed by a practical training segment, wherein CISF personnel gained hands-on experience with drone operations.

Participants witnessed live drone demonstrations and received instruction on basic handling and maneuvering techniques.

Additionally, last month, the Assam Rifles executed an extensive two-day drone exercise in Peren district, Nagaland.

Defence Spokesperson Rawat stated that the exercise took place under the Indian Army's Spear Corps at the Drone Training Node in Jalukie, focusing on enhancing tactical surveillance and technical handling competencies.
