Ranchi, March 3 (NationPress) Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has aggressively criticized the Jharkhand government, claiming it favors a specific community.

Dubey pointed to the state's decision to implement holidays on Fridays rather than Sundays in numerous schools and to provide special accommodations for Muslim employees during Ramzan.

In a post on social media, Dubey stated on Monday, "Jharkhand is now an Islamic state. The government acknowledges that 648 schools observe a Friday holiday instead of Sunday. This directive was enacted in 2007 under the Congress regime."

Dubey brought this matter to Parliament during Zero Hour on August 2, 2024. Subsequently, the central government requested clarification from the Jharkhand administration. In its response dated January 10, 2025, the state explained that during the time of unified Bihar, 648 schools in Jharkhand were categorized as Urdu schools. In September 2007, an order was issued mandating these schools to close on Fridays instead of Sundays.

However, Dubey rejected the government's explanation as insufficient, asserting that there are "thousands of schools where 'Urdu' has been forcibly added to their names and where Friday is designated as a holiday."

“A holiday on Friday instead of Sunday. The Jharkhand government is eager to settle Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state,” Dubey remarked in a new post on X on Monday.

On Sunday, Dubey made additional accusations on social media, alleging that the government provides special privileges to Muslim employees during Ramzan. He proclaimed, "The time has come to declare Jharkhand an Islamic State. Congress only supports Muslims."

Along with his statement, Dubey shared a copy of a 2009 government order that allowed Muslim employees to leave work at 4 p.m. during Ramzan and granted them extra leave from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Friday prayers.

“If there is a holiday for Ramzan, then why isn’t there a holiday for the two-month-long Kanwar Yatra that occurs in Deoghar?” he questioned in a post on X.

His comments have ignited further controversy, contributing to the ongoing political discourse surrounding the state government's policies.

So far, there has been no response from the government following Dubey's latest allegations.
