Patna, March 22 (NationPress) Four individuals tragically lost their lives, and one sustained serious injuries when a speeding E-Rickshaw collided with a stationary tractor trolley in the West Champaran district of Bihar on Friday evening, as reported by an official.

Sanjay Kumar Singh, the SHO of Valmikinagar Police Station, confirmed the incident. He indicated that the driver likely lost control of the vehicle because of excessive speed, resulting in the crash.

The collision took place near the Bheriyari Compartment within the jurisdiction of Valmikinagar police station in the Bagaha subdivision of West Champaran district at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

“The E-Rickshaw was moving at an extremely high velocity, causing the driver to lose control and slam into the tractor parked on the roadside,” Singh stated.

There were five individuals on board, including the driver. The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Kushwaha, a resident of Bheriyari, his wife, a child, and the E-Rickshaw driver.

“Upon receiving news of the accident, we immediately responded. All victims were transported to Bagaha Sub-divisional Hospital for medical attention where they unfortunately succumbed to multiple injuries,” Singh remarked.

The families of the deceased are devastated. The bodies have been recovered and sent to Bagaha Sub-divisional Hospital for autopsy.

A woman named Janki Devi is critically injured and fighting for her life in the hospital. This incident has raised serious concerns about road safety and reckless driving in the area.

Authorities are conducting further investigations to identify the tractor driver who had parked the vehicle on the roadside. He has gone into hiding following the accident.

“We have confiscated the tractor and initiated legal proceedings as per the law,” Singh added.

Earlier, on February 24, seven individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident near the Nura Bazaar bridge on Masaurhi-Pitwans Road in Patna district.

The collision involved a truck and an auto-rickshaw transporting laborers returning to Kharat village from Patna. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road into nearby water bodies, leading to the auto-rickshaw being submerged under the truck.
