New Delhi, May 7 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar emphasized India's firm position against terrorism on Wednesday.
Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the loss of 26 innocent lives, India initiated 'Operation Sindoor', targeting nine crucial terror locations deep within Pakistani territory.
Executed with surgical accuracy, the operation was under the vigilant supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior security officials throughout the night.
In a post on X, EAM Jaishankar declared, "The world must exhibit zero tolerance for terrorism," reaffirming India's diplomatic and strategic commitment to addressing cross-border terror.
The Indian Army confirmed that the strikes were carefully strategized and executed, ensuring that no civilian or military infrastructure within Pakistan was harmed.
This operation specifically targeted the infrastructure associated with terror groups responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources indicated that the Prime Minister maintained constant communication with high-ranking military commanders and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval during the operation.
Official statements confirmed that the nine targets included camps and logistical bases related to terror organizations operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The spokesperson for the Indian Army highlighted the precise nature of the strikes, stating, "Our actions have been focused and precise. We have exclusively targeted terrorist camps from which assaults against India have been orchestrated and executed."
The Army further clarified that the operation was non-escalatory in its intent and execution, aiming solely at dismantling terror infrastructure while safeguarding civilian, military, and economic structures in Pakistan.
"Justice is served. Jai Hind," the spokesperson concluded.
Indian intelligence agencies had previously linked the Pahalgam attack to groups based in Pakistan, with The Resistance Front—a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba—claiming responsibility.
In response, India pledged decisive countermeasures, integrating diplomatic pressure with military readiness.
Operation Sindoor stands as one of the most significant cross-border operations undertaken by India since the Balakot airstrikes in 2019.
