New Delhi, March 31 (NationPress) The External Affairs Minister (EAM), S. Jaishankar, in a meeting held on Monday, extended Eid-ul-Fitr wishes to members of the Dawoodi Bohra community. This meeting included Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha member Milind Deora and Dawoodi Bohra representative Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin.

Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin, the youngest son of the Dawoodi Bohra leader Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, oversees the community's administrative activities and chairs the SBUT, a significant redevelopment initiative in South Mumbai.

EAM Jaishankar expressed his joy about the meeting through social media, stating, "Pleased to meet Shehzada Husain Burhanuddin and the Dawoodi Bohra representatives, alongside MP Milind Deora today."

He further mentioned, "Shared Eid greetings and discussed their commendable community efforts,".

Milind Deora also shared his thoughts on the meeting, saying, "It was an honor to accompany Shahzada Syedi Husain Burhanuddin, the youngest son of Syedna Saheb, along with Abdulqadir Nooruddin & Mustafa Lokhandwala, to meet EAM S. Jaishankar ji in New Delhi."

The Dawoodi Bohra community is recognized for its rich cultural and religious traditions, primarily found in India but also having notable populations in Pakistan, Yemen, East Africa, the Middle East, as well as increasing numbers in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

Globally, the Dawoodi Bohra community is guided by the Al-Dai al-Mutlaq (the unrestricted missionary), who has been based in India for the past 450 years after originally starting from Yemen.

The community adheres to the Fatimi Ismaili Tayyibi school of thought, centered on the belief in one deity, Allah, and holds the Holy Quran in high regard as the divine scripture.

Their historical roots can be traced back to the Fatimi Imams, who are direct descendants of Prophet Mohammed through Imam Ali bin Abi Talib and his daughter, Fatima.
