Bengaluru, Feb 12 (NationPress) The UK-based aerospace leader Eaton announced on Wednesday its intention to present its ‘Make in India’ capabilities developed over several years.
Expressing satisfaction with the ease of doing business in India, the company indicated its plans for further growth and expansion within the country.
Desmond Goh, Managing Director for the APAC region at Eaton Corporation's Aerospace Group, shared with the media his primary expectations from Aero India 2025: “There are two main objectives. First, we aim to highlight our ‘Make in India’ capabilities. We take great pride in the engineering design and manufacturing capabilities we have developed in India over the years.”
“Our commitment and investments in the Indian market are clear reflections of our dedication,” he remarked.
When discussing the challenges within the Indian market, Goh noted the necessity of comprehending the how and where for effective participation.
“Our goal is to deliver maximum value to customers, whether they are from the Airforce, Army, or Navy, and to identify opportunities in the coming years,” he added.
“Every aircraft currently operated by the Indian Air Force, whether locally manufactured or imported, is equipped with Eaton products,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Yeh, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing for Eaton's Aerospace Group, commented on the ease of doing business in India: “We are expanding our presence here, with seven manufacturing sites across the nation. If it were overly challenging, growth would not be feasible.”
Yeh further remarked: “I have witnessed the Indian aerospace market evolve. My first visit to Aero India was years ago, and the exhibition has significantly grown along with the number of local participants. The landscape continues to transform, presenting opportunities to strategize and build connections.”
Desmond Goh added: “We celebrated a century on the New York Stock Exchange two years ago. Eaton has a rich history in both commercial and military aviation. Almost every aircraft in operation today features Eaton products. We are excited about the contributions we can make to the Indian market.”
Goh noted that Eaton’s aerospace presence in India includes two manufacturing facilities located in Coimbatore and Bengaluru, along with three sales offices in Coimbatore, Bengaluru, and Delhi, plus R&D support in Pune.
“The Bengaluru facility is a state-of-the-art greenfield site situated on a 2.85-acre plot near Devanahalli. It effectively utilizes digital and smart manufacturing technologies, aligning with Eaton's ambition of establishing Industry 4.0 facilities,” he stated.
He further emphasized: “This progress has not been instantaneous; it is the result of the Make in India initiative and the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) 2020, which mandated the implementation of ‘Make in India’.
