Kolkata, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Tuesday that it has decided to suspend the departmental transfers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the West Bengal cadre, who are currently on temporary deputation to the Commission. This decision is in response to ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) activities in the state.
In a letter addressed to West Bengal Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty, ECI Secretary Sujeet Kumar Mishra emphasized that the state government must seek prior approval from the Commission before proceeding with such transfers in the future.
