Bengaluru, Oct 25 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, asserted on Saturday that education plays a pivotal role in shaping one's personality and is crucial for the abolition of social inequality. He emphasized that it is essential for all individuals to receive an education.

“Education holds significance for everyone, irrespective of their caste or religion. It is vital for leading a life filled with dignity. B.R. Ambedkar highlighted the necessity of education to liberate oneself from societal constraints. It is imperative that every Muslim is educated. Education is fundamental for personality development, and to dismantle social inequality, it is essential for everyone to be educated,” stated the Chief Minister during the inauguration of the Darul Quran Campus, managed by Jamia Masjid and the Muslim Charitable Trust in Bengaluru.

He remarked that following the establishment of the Constitution, equal educational opportunities have become accessible to all.

“The government has prioritized education and will allocate grants for it. Furthermore, hostels are being constructed to support primary and higher primary education for Muslim children,” he asserted.

Siddaramaiah underlined the importance of respecting different religions while adhering to one’s own, promoting harmony and solidarity as mandated by the Constitution.

“We must refrain from inciting religious animosity. Hatred is not the path to winning hearts. Education is vital for understanding this. As Ambedkar stated, social inequality must be addressed,” the Chief Minister articulated.

He stressed the need for equal opportunities, stating, “To uphold freedom, we must eradicate inequality. Progress is unattainable without addressing inequality. Education is the key to fostering equality, cultivating knowledge, and earning social respect,” he emphasized.

Siddaramaiah urged both governmental and non-governmental organizations to prioritize education.

“Our government has dedicated a significant portion of the Rs 4,900 crore budget to education,” he mentioned.

He pointed out that the Karnataka government has rolled out five guarantee schemes, including Shakti and Gruhalakshmi, specifically aimed at empowering women.

“It is heartening to observe Muslim girls gaining access to education, a positive shift. Previously, girls from marginalized communities lacked educational opportunities. Now, equal opportunities are being extended,” he highlighted.

He also noted the implementation of the Annabhagya and Gruha Jyoti schemes.

“When we introduced these guarantee schemes, some predicted the government would face financial ruin. Now, they are attempting to replicate these initiatives,” he quipped.

The Chief Minister remarked that these guarantee schemes aim to eliminate inequality, aligning with the emphasis of the Constitution.

“Our government is acting in accordance with these principles. Those who comprehend the Constitution can engage in socially constructive efforts. No child should be denied education for any reason. Education is a necessity,” the Chief Minister urged.

“If every individual receives an education, we can forge a great India and establish a just society. First, we are all Indians. After that, we can identify as Hindus, Muslims, or Christians. Let's unite to build India together, and move past hatred to promote mutual love,” concluded the Chief Minister.
