Jammu, Jan 24 (NationPress) Ekta Kumari has made history by becoming the first Parade Commander of the All India NCC Girls Contingent from Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) during this year's Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path.

Originating from Srinagar, she holds the position of Leading Cadet in the 1 J&K Naval Unit NCC and is currently studying for a BSc at the Government College for Women in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

Inspired by her father, a retired soldier from 12 JAK LI, Ekta's aspiration to join the Defence forces has been a lifelong pursuit.

Her educational journey began at Army Public School, Akhnoor, and continued through her college years when she became part of the NCC. Ekta's relentless determination has been instrumental in achieving this significant milestone.

Her path has been characterized by remarkable dedication to social service and adventurous endeavors. Despite the hurdles she encountered while aiming for a position in the Republic Day Camp (RDC), the support from her family, especially her brother Lavneet and her mother, helped her stay committed to her aspirations.
