Mumbai, Feb 3 (NationPress) Maharashtra Minister of Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare urged the administration on Monday to enhance initiatives aimed at empowering women within the industrial sector by establishing its Asmita Bhavan at the taluka level.

“The establishment of Asmita Bhavan at the taluka level to support women in the industrial sector needs to be expedited. This facility will be constructed in talukas with markets, providing maximum opportunities for women self-help groups under the Manila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) to engage in business,” stated Tatkare.

She made these remarks during a departmental meeting today aimed at reviewing the progress of the garment project in Roha, the setup of Asmita Bhavan at the taluka level, the operations of Manila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal, the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and the 100-day action plan.

Tatkare highlighted that the Nav Tejaswini Maharashtra Rural Enterprise Development Project will be executed via MAVIM under the Solar Fish Drying Project based in Shrivardhan from the Raigad district.

This initiative will promote agriculture, agri-allied and non-agricultural industries, along with innovative projects under the market-oriented industry development component.

The minister instructed the administration to carry out the garment project in both Roha city and rural localities. A transparent working mechanism should be established to ensure that eligible women receive appropriate training and compensation. She also urged efforts to maximize employment for women via this initiative.

Tatkare proposed organizing a state-level festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of MAVIM, providing a platform for self-help groups to showcase their work. This initiative is also aimed at ensuring MAVIM's outreach to rural communities.

Secretary Anup Kumar Yadav informed that vacant positions in the State Child Rights Protection Commission, which focuses on safeguarding children's rights, would be filled through external and contractual sources, alongside permanent placements.

Meanwhile, Tatkare instructed the administration to hold a state-level children's festival annually for youths in orphanages and observation homes. During this festival, a special platform will be made available for children who write stories and poems, showcasing their literary talents.

Tatkare reviewed various departmental schemes and the 100-day action plan. She assessed numerous initiatives under the Integrated Child Development Service Scheme, including home delivery of food to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children, growth monitoring of beneficiary children, and support through home visits.

Additionally, she examined the current state of community-based programs focused on nutrition awareness, provision of toilets, and drinking water facilities to Village Child Development Centers, Urban Child Development Centers, Anganwadi Centers, Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Insurance Scheme, remuneration for the work of beggars, Pink Rickshaw, Ladki Bahin Scheme, and mobile teams.
