Lucknow, June 13 (NationPress) The Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM-YUVA) is rapidly evolving into a significant movement for self-employment in Uttar Pradesh. This visionary scheme is designed to cultivate modern entrepreneurs by offering financial assistance and entrepreneurial training to aspiring business owners.
The state administration plans to initiate a focused campaign throughout universities, colleges, and educational institutions to engage with the youth and promote self-employment opportunities. After selecting suitable candidates, young individuals will receive financial backing of up to Rs 5 lakh to help them become self-sufficient entrepreneurs.
A recent two-day capacity-building workshop was conducted at Niryat Bhawan in Lucknow, aimed at enhancing the implementation of the scheme and improving the functionality of the CM Yuva Portal.
A comprehensive campaign will soon roll out across all 75 districts, during which specialized teams of officials will visit universities, engineering colleges, and other higher education institutions to identify final-year students and those who remain jobless despite their educational qualifications.
Upon identification, eligible youth will be offered interest-free, collateral-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh to assist them in launching their entrepreneurial projects and becoming job creators.
As stated by Sarveshwar Shukla, Joint Commissioner of Industries and nodal officer for the scheme, the primary aim of the Yogi government is to empower every qualified, educated, and forward-thinking youth by supporting them in starting their businesses. The vision is to shift youth from 'job seekers' to 'job creators.' Alongside financial support, technical assistance will also be provided to ensure the success of these entrepreneurial ventures.
To date, over 2.5 lakh youth have applied for loans, with more than 1.10 lakh applications forwarded to banks. Loans have been sanctioned to over 53,000 applicants, with 40,000 already receiving their funds.
A notable number of women, as well as youth from OBC, SC, and minority communities, have engaged with the scheme and are now on the path to self-sufficiency.
Young entrepreneurs have utilized the funding to launch ventures in various sectors, including cake manufacturing, digital marketing, interior design, laundry services, solar panel installation, tattoo studios, and mineral water plants.
