Lucknow, May 1 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making significant strides towards turning the state into a $1 trillion economy. As part of this ambitious plan, CM Yogi has introduced a variety of initiatives aimed at empowering the youth through self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Among these initiatives, the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan’ has quickly become the preferred option for the state's young citizens.
This is evidenced by the impressive statistic that more than 48,000 applications have been received in the first month of the current fiscal year alone. The government has set a target of 1.5 lakh applications for the financial year 2025-26.
The rising numbers indicate that the scheme is garnering robust interest from youth, who are actively pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations.
In terms of benefits disbursal, Jaunpur district has taken the lead, with Agra and Hapur following in second and third places respectively.
Uttar Pradesh is currently unique in the nation, as the government not only aims to provide jobs for the youth but also empowers them to emerge as successful entrepreneurs, according to officials.

In just the first month of FY 2025-26, a total of 48,086 applications were submitted under the scheme, with 40,635 sent to banks. Out of these, 9,867 have been approved for loans, and 5,838 youths have successfully received funding to launch their businesses.
Reflecting on FY 2024-25, the state received 1,78,662 applications against a target of 1 lakh. Of these, 1,44,273 were forwarded to banks, with over 40,000 approved and more than 28,000 youth receiving loans. The MSME Department allocated a margin money support of Rs113 crore to facilitate this process.
Jaunpur has emerged as the district disbursing the highest number of loans thus far this year.
District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra Singh stated that a focused campaign is being implemented in alignment with CM Adityanath’s vision to connect youth with banks and streamline loan facilitation under the scheme.
Jaunpur has a goal of providing loans to 2,200 youths in FY 2025-26. In the first month alone, the district recorded 1,397 applications, forwarded 1,176 to banks, with 447 approved and 257 loans already disbursed.
Agra holds the second position with 986 applications received against a target of 2,700. Out of these, 921 were forwarded, 338 approved, and 197 loans disbursed.
Hapur ranked third with 516 applications against a goal of 1,700. Banks received 314 applications, approved 192, and disbursed loans to 167 applicants.
Similarly, Jhansi has granted loans to 143 youths, placing it fourth, while Gorakhpur stands fifth with 134 loans disbursed.
Other districts such as Bareilly, Azamgarh, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Kanpur Nagar have also demonstrated remarkable success in executing the scheme.
