After their discussion, the Vice President's Office shared on X, "The Vice President of Bolivia, H.E. Edmand Lara Montaño, paid a visit to the Hon'ble Vice President of India, Shri CP Radhakrishnan, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today during the India AI Impact Summit 2026."
"The two leaders expressed contentment regarding the steady advancement of bilateral relations between India and Bolivia. They deliberated on avenues to enhance collaboration in solar energy, critical minerals, digitalisation, higher education, and the medical sector. They also exchanged perspectives on strengthening partnerships in multilateral and other international platforms," it stated.
Montano arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday for the AI Impact Summit, where Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, welcomed him at the airport.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) posted on X, "Vice President Capitan Edman Lara of Bolivia received a warm welcome from Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey upon his arrival in New Delhi for the India AI Impact Summit. A fresh beginning for digital partnerships in the friendly ties between India and Bolivia."
In November of last year, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita represented India at the inauguration ceremony of Rodrigo Paz Pereira as Bolivia's President, reiterating New Delhi's commitment to enhancing the bilateral partnership.

I met President Paz Pereira and extended greetings from Hon’ble Rashtrapati Ji and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. India remains dedicated to reinforcing its partnership with Bolivia and collaborating on shared interests," he noted on X.
In October 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Pereira on his election victory in Bolivia's presidential race. Pereira, aged 58, secured the presidency in Bolivia's runoff election held on October 19, according to preliminary results from the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
"Warm congratulations, Mr. Rodrigo Paz Pereira, on your election as the President of Bolivia. The close and friendly relations between India and Bolivia have long been the foundation of our mutually beneficial cooperation. I look forward to strengthening our partnership for shared progress and prosperity in the upcoming years," PM Modi expressed on X.
