New Delhi, Sep 25 (NationPress) The Prime Minister's Mementos e-Auction 2025 showcases a vibrant array of art and culture from the North East, featuring 1,300 unique items presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from various regions of the country, according to an official statement released on Thursday.

Items representing Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh prominently display the region's rich craft, tradition, and cultural pride, the official elaborated.

The online auction, accessible at pmmementos.gov.in until October 2, offers a unique opportunity to acquire national treasures while also supporting the 'Namami Gange' Project, with each bid contributing to the conservation of the sacred river, the statement noted.

Among the items from Nagaland, the auction features the 'Mithun', a wooden bull sculpture, and a handwoven Naga shawl. The Mithun is intricately carved and polished, symbolizing wealth and social status within the Naga community.

Available from Meghalaya is a model ship, showcasing the state's exquisite bamboo and cane craftsmanship. This ship, with its layered decks and engraved designs, exemplifies the local artistry, transforming ordinary materials into a remarkable collectible.

The e-auction also includes a Muga Silk Angavastra, a Garuda Wall Mask, and a traditional Assamese Japi from Assam. The Japi, made from bamboo and palm leaves and adorned with vibrant colors, serves as both a rain guard and a symbol of honor in Assam.

The golden angavastra, crafted from Assam's renowned muga silk, represents the state's distinctive silk heritage. The Garuda mask originates from Majuli, known as the world's largest river island and a cultural hub of Assam.

From Sikkim, a brass sculpture of Lord Buddha in a state of peaceful meditation is among the offerings in the e-auction. Additionally, the auction features a beautifully carved Wancho Wooden Craft depicting a tribal couple from Arunachal Pradesh.
