New Delhi, Aug 2 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to promote self-reliance and encourage the purchase of swadeshi products is receiving accolades from farmers nationwide.
During the unveiling of the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers expressed their gratitude on Saturday, stating that the scheme has significantly supported them in covering farming expenses promptly.
With the transfer of Rs 20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers from Varanasi, the Prime Minister enabled farmers to celebrate as they witnessed the funds being credited live.
Vijay Kumar Upadhyay from Mau village, Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh, remarked that the funds are extremely beneficial for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, and managing irrigation costs.
Rambriksh Gautam from Kartihan village added that the financial aid always arrives timely, directly addressing their farming requirements, and both farmers expressed their thanks towards the Prime Minister.
A special event in Haryana’s Karnal at the NDRI auditorium featured Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, who joined farmers in watching the PM’s address online.
Minister Rana highlighted that the PM-Kisan scheme acts as a lifeline for farmers, particularly small landholders, who receive this financial support three times annually.
He mentioned that even those cultivating just one or two kanals of land benefit from the initiative.
He commended the Prime Minister for recognizing the varied agricultural demands across states, ensuring that farmers nationwide receive deserved support.
Addressing global trade challenges, Minister Rana noted that while nations like the US prioritize their trade interests, India is unwavering in protecting its economy.
He emphasized that India’s vast market of 140 crore people is appealing globally, yet the nation will not yield to external pressures.
Rana also pointed out that under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy.
He encouraged citizens to bolster the nation by opting for locally produced goods and supporting the “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives.
