A significant event took place at the Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) in Sabour, Bhagalpur, where farmers, agricultural experts, and public representatives convened to celebrate this milestone.
Ajay Kumar Mandal, the Janata Dal (United) MP from Bhagalpur, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for their leadership and farmer-focused initiatives.
“Every time farmers receive this instalment, it’s akin to celebrating Diwali or Dussehra. This timely financial aid ensures no farmer is left behind,” he remarked to IANS.
A farmer named Awadhesh from Bhagalpur shared his feelings, stating, “As soon as PM Modi activated the transfer, Rs 2,000 was deposited in my account. It’s a wonderful feeling, especially since it comes at a critical time for us.”
He highlighted how vital this sum is for fulfilling essential farming needs. Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of BAU, praised the PM’s initiative as a “robust foundation for wealth in rural India,” asserting that schemes like PM-KISAN are crucial for enhancing the socio-economic status of the farming community.
Meanwhile, similar excitement was palpable across several districts in Uttar Pradesh, such as Saharanpur and Basti. In Saharanpur, farmers displayed visible joy upon receiving the Rs 2,000 instalment directly in their bank accounts.
Numerous beneficiaries recounted how this financial support allows them to purchase fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides timely for the Kharif season. In Basti, farmers publicly expressed gratitude towards PM Modi, affirming that the scheme meets both agricultural and household needs.
“No leader has supported us like Modi ji has since independence,” declared one beneficiary.
Farmers from both states voiced a collective sentiment - that the PM-KISAN scheme serves as a lifeline for small and marginal farmers.
